I have been interested in the arts since I was a little girl.  I would always sing and perform for family members and friends.  When I arrived in the theater program, I was able to sharpen my skills in singing, dancing, and acting.  I gained more confidence while being in the program, and I strengthened my love for the arts.  I’m very fortunate to have this opportunity to be a part of such a historical program that has birthed so many great talents.  My dream is to join the ranks of those who have come before me, having been able to take what they learned at Duke Ellington and turn it into a stellar career.

It takes a village for this program to pour into us and equip us with all the knowledge and skills necessary for success.  Your support can make a world of difference in so many of our lives. Every penny counts, from one dollar to one thousand, it all goes to a great cause, and the students of Duke Ellington are all living proof that the arts are not dead, and your monetary donation can help us keep art alive!

March for the Arts is the

Duke Ellington School of the Arts annual

Theatre Fundraiser.

Support Us!

In the Theatre Department, students aren't just taught how to act. They are taught how to create the stories they want to see. They are given the tools to shape the world around them with their art. Ellington relies on the generosity of parents and donors to ensure that our students receive the highest level of pre-professional training and performance opportunities. Donations enable them to create sets, craft costumes, power technical capabilities, hire additional instructors, and fund classes with Master Acting Teachers like the renowned Professor Vera Katz, Tony-nominated actor Corey Hawkins.
