Hi everyone!
My name is Juliah Alyse Perdue, and I am in my senior year in the theatre department at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. This department has become my home, and the training I've received has been so transformative and invigorating. As I approach my final months here, I am committed to leaving a lasting mark on the theatre department that has given me so much.
My time at Ellington has been filled with incredible growth. Recently, I had the opportunity to audition for and attend the British American Drama Academy’s life-changing three-week Shakespeare program overseas, which pushed me far beyond my comfort zone and expanded my worldview. I’ve also grown immensely as an artist and community member, serving as an assistant stage manager for our spring show, The Laramie Project.
Your support will enable talented young artists to continue their journeys at Duke Ellington. It provides vital funding for workshops with renowned professionals, field trips to see world-class shows, and the resources to put on impactful performances. Your contribution doesn’t just support me—it enriches the entire program, ensuring that future students have the same life-changing opportunities I've had.
THANK YOU!!!
March

Support Us!
In the Theatre Department, students aren't just taught how to act. They are taught how to create the stories they want to see. They are given the tools to shape the world around them with their art. Ellington relies on the generosity of parents and donors to ensure that our students receive the highest level of pre-professional training and performance opportunities. Donations enable them to create sets, craft costumes, power technical capabilities, hire additional instructors, and fund classes with Master Acting Teachers like the renowned Professor Vera Katz, Tony-nominated actor Corey Hawkins.
